Bottled Experience

This is a series built around more in depth discussions about some of the topics I cover in the main Bottled Experience videos. These videos do tend to be a bit heavy on the talking and technical terms as this is often needed when going more in depth.

Gavin's Gargantuan Day    20 - Feb - 2019

Gavin gets into an argument with Gus about how long a day lasts. Is Gavin right does a day last 50 hours on Earth.

Millie's Maths Muddle    15 - Jan - 2019

On Off Topic 163 Millie brought in her maths homework and had a question that stumped everyone, even chat was having issues. This is my take on the solution to the problem and my opinion on why it was not a very good maths question.

Lagging Lightspeed    22 - Dec - 2017

Discussing the newest Star Wars movie, Gavin and Burnie ask what speed the ships are travelling at when they “jump to light speed” and how this would work in the real world. The answers require us to look at general relativity to find out what happens to the missing time.

Floating Farts    24 - Nov - 2017

Gus, Gavin and Burnie want to know if farts will float or sink in the air. This simple question is a little more complicated than it seems.

The Fate of the Fat    10 - Nov - 2017

Gus wants to know what happens to the "extra you" that is lost as you exercise and lose weight. This is a look at the possible ways that fat leaves your body once it is burned.

Preposterous Planets    18 - Aug - 2017

Burine can’t quite understand how it is possible that we can know so much about Exoplanets, especially compared to the fact that there is still so much we don’t know about planets closer to us. Here is a quick rundown of what we do know about these planets and how amazing it is that we even know they exist.

Gavin's People Pole of Luna Landing    21 - July - 2017

At RTX Austin 2017 Gavin’s final quote for Gavin or Google is, “How many people high is the Moon?” This led to Burnie making the controversial observation that there would be a point where this pole of people would eventually stop build up away from Earth and start building down towards the Moon. This video will go into detail about why Burnie was right.

The Planet and the Pea    22 - Apr - 2017

Gavin ask how small can something be before you can't put something into orbit around it.

Triangle Turnaround    25 - Mar - 2017

Gavin tries to understand how triangles work so that he can invent his own.
